The Midwest Association of Filipino Americans (MAFA) presents their 14th annual conference, on February 26-28, 2010. which brings together Filipino American participants from over 15 schools through the Midwest.

It always amazes me to see Filipino Americans gather together here in the United States, and in countries around the world. Thank you to conference coordinator Marisa Santiago for inviting me to this year's conference to do a workshop on Entrepreneurship. I'm certainly looking forward to meeting the new and emerging entrepreneurs from the Midwest who are ready to rock the world.

Ramiele Malubay performance at Pacquiao/Cotto Fight

Ramiele Malubay performed the US National Anthem at the Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto fight this past Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Confirming this performance, travelling to Las Vegas, and making it happen, moved rather quickly for us -- so we didn't get to share the news much sooner. Nonetheless, everyone's support and positive feedback has been very touching and we truly appreciate it. Ramiele felt honored to represent not only the United States, but also Filipino Americans and Filipinos throughout the world for this anticipated match between Pacquiao and Cotto.

Here are some photos to share with you from the evening -- and be sure to check out ABS-CBN's "Balitang America" tonight (11/18/09) for a feature on the fight and Ramiele. (Photos courtesy of Richard Gali, Barkada Inc.)

Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao and thank you to all!

Special thank you to: LunaCo Crew, Barkada Inc., Jason Tyler, Roxanne Saffaie, Francesca Camus, Malubay Family, Valerie Gonzales, The Signature Grand, Sherilyn Nemedez, Chris Scholtes, Willy Gloria, Alex Retodo, Leejay Abucayan, ABS-CBN, Joseph Pimentel, Barkada(ko).

Hello September!

Hi everyone, Jon from New York here!

I'm taking a little break from research to post my first Luna Co. post on our Posterous. But to those of you who have been wondering what's going on with The Luna Co.. well, there's a lot. Although I really can't dive too much into what's happening behind the scenes, I will say this; expect to be introduced to new faces, new people, and more incredible talent in the next coming months.

In other news, I'm looking forward to my trip to California to tackle everything we've got in the works for the autumn and winter months. It's going to be a great six weeks on The Left Coast! Expect an update when I get into Los Angeles on Thursday.

Oh yeah, for those in Southern California, this weekend (9/12-13) is the Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture  at Pt. Fermin Parkin San Pedro, California. There's going to be a lot of great performances, vendors, food and anything/everything else related to the Philippines. I look forward to seeing you there!

Also, for those who are in the New York area and would like to have a Luna Co artist come to your event, please feel free to email me at j.decastro@thelunaco.com!

DONE! That's it for now!

- Jon
